Engineering capacity · Europe and USA

IT staff augmentation for ICT consultancies.

DevExpress provides IT staff augmentation services to ICT consulting companies across Europe and the United States. Engineers from our Tirana team join your delivery organisation, work inside your process, and support your client commitments under your brand.

The model

What IT staff augmentation means in practice.

IT staff augmentation adds engineers to the team you already lead, rather than handing a separate project to an outside vendor. You keep the client relationship, the roadmap and the technical decisions. We supply the people who do the work inside that structure.

It is a form of technology staff augmentation built for consultancies: we do not replace your team, we absorb the load your pipeline creates faster than hiring can cover. Engineers adopt your repositories, ticketing, coding standards, reviews and communication rituals as they already exist.

  • You keep controlRoadmap, priorities and the client relationship stay yours. We work inside your decisions.
  • No hiring cycleAdd skills when the pipeline demands them, without opening roles or paying recruitment fees.
  • Reversible capacityTeam size follows the contract. It grows and reduces on agreed notice.

Engagement models

Three ways to add engineering capacity.

The service defines what we build. The model defines how responsibility enters your organisation.

Embedded

Engineers in your team

One or more engineers join a delivery team you already lead and adopt its tools, standards and communication model. Project accountability stays with you.

Stable

Dedicated development team

A stable squad works on a client account, product area or delivery stream. This is the model when you want to build a dedicated development team that holds context over time.

Accountable

Scoped delivery

DevExpress takes responsibility for a defined module, integration or workstream, with agreed goals and acceptance criteria.

Fit

When this model works, and when it is the wrong choice.

We would rather say this early. The embedded model solves a specific problem, and there are situations where scoped delivery serves your client better.

Works well when

  • You have won client work and need engineering capacity before you can hire for it.
  • Your team already has a working process, and you need people inside it rather than a parallel one.
  • The engagement is continuous enough that preserving project context is worth something.
  • You want to keep the client relationship and delivery accountability in your own organisation.

Choose scoped delivery when

  • The scope is fixed and isolated, and is better handed over with defined acceptance criteria.
  • You need a single short task with no continuity, where onboarding would cost more than the work.
  • Nobody on your side has time to give technical direction. Embedded engineers need direction from you.

Getting started

How the staff augmentation process works.

  1. Requirements

We define roles, stack, seniority, responsibilities, availability and the working-hour overlap you need.

  2. Team proposal

We propose available engineers or the team composition best suited to the project.

  3. Onboarding

We enter the repositories, ticketing, reviews, QA and communication cadence already in use.

  4. Delivery and scaling

Stable operation, with agreed capacity changes as the contract changes.

Working together

How the collaboration runs day to day.

Adding people only helps if the working relationship is predictable. This is the routine we default to, and we adapt it to whatever your team already runs.

Your tools, not ours

Engineers work in your repositories, your ticketing and your chat. We do not ask partners to adopt a second set of tools or a separate reporting channel.

Direct access

Your leads talk to the engineers directly. We do not route technical questions through an account manager.

Agreed cadence

Stand-ups, reviews and planning follow your calendar. We commit to a written summary whenever a decision changes scope or timeline.

One point of escalation

A named technical contact on our side handles capacity, replacement and anything the daily routine cannot resolve.

Evaluating a supplier

How to choose an IT staff augmentation company.

Staff augmentation providers look much alike during the sales process. These are the questions that actually separate them, and they apply to us too.

Ask who will actually work on it

Many suppliers present senior profiles and assign different people. Ask for names and speak to them before signing.

Ask about the replacement policy

What happens if an engineer leaves the project, on what notice, and with what handover.

Ask them to work in your tools

A supplier that imposes its own ticketing and reporting is building a second parallel process.

Ask how it ends

Notice period, code ownership and knowledge transfer. A staff augmentation service company confident in its value answers without hesitating.

Commercial model

What IT staff augmentation costs.

We work on a monthly rate per engineer, set by role, seniority and the expected length of the engagement. We charge no recruitment or placement fees: the rate covers the person, the time and the coordination around them.

We prepare a rate card for the roles you need after the first call, so you can compare costs before committing. Short engagements are possible where the scope is clear, and every agreement carries an agreed notice period for reducing or extending the team.

  • Monthly rate per roleSet by role, seniority and duration. No hidden recruitment cost.
  • Rate card after the first callYou get costs for the roles you asked about before any commitment.
  • Agreed notice periodCapacity reduces or grows on timelines written into the contract.

Nearshore delivery · Tirana

A nearshore team inside Europe, not a distant offshore vendor.

Our team works from Tirana, Albania. For European partners that means a fully overlapping working day, not a few hours of intersection. For teams in the United States we agree stable operating windows. Staff augmentation in Eastern Europe gives you the cost position of outsourcing without the time-zone and cultural distance of offshore delivery.

Delivery evidence

An embedded developer inside the ConTe.it team.

ConTe.it, Admiral Group’s Italian insurance brand, did not need to outsource a project — it needed to increase the capacity of an existing team. We embedded one engineer directly in their backlog, codebase and review process, working across AWS microservices, KYC and AML flows, performance and test coverage.

FAQ

Questions before we start.

What is the difference between staff augmentation and outsourcing?

With this model, engineers join the team you lead and you keep delivery accountability. With project outsourcing, you hand a complete scope to a vendor who runs it independently. We offer both models, but they are different decisions: one adds capacity, the other transfers responsibility.

Can we begin with one engineer or a limited scope?

Yes. You can start with one role or a contained module, agree a review checkpoint, and expand capacity only after the operating model has been validated. It is the most common way partners start with us.

Do you support short-term staff augmentation?

Yes, where the scope is clear. A short engagement works well for a workload peak, a migration or a fixed deadline. For continuous work on a client account, a dedicated team holds context better.

Can engineers work under our company brand?

Yes. We can work inside your delivery organisation and client communication model while preserving confidentiality and consistency with your brand.

Do you work in agile teams?

We work in the process your team already uses. If you run Scrum or Kanban, our engineers join your ceremonies, estimation and review cadence rather than introducing a parallel method.

How do we build a dedicated development team over time?

It almost always starts with one or two roles. Once the model works, we add skills around the same account or product and keep the people stable, so project knowledge stays with the engineers building the software.
