Embedded engineering capacity for ConTe.it’s digital platform.

The project

Project context

ConTe.it is Admiral Group’s Italian brand for online insurance services. Its digital platform supports customer journeys for insurance quotes and purchases, alongside access to online lending services.

The requirement was not to outsource a separate project. ConTe.it needed to increase the capacity of its existing team and accelerate planned development without changing how that team worked.

DevExpress embedded one developer directly in the client’s team. The engineer worked within the same backlog, codebase, collaboration routines, review process, and quality standards already used internally, adapting to ConTe.it’s architecture and ways of working.

The contribution focused on serverless functions and microservices, communication with KYC and AML services, performance optimisation, bug resolution, and unit-test coverage.

Embedded delivery across microservices and AWS services

Engineering challenge

ConTe.it needed to increase delivery speed across its platform without creating an external workstream disconnected from the team, architecture, or product priorities.

Delivered solution

The DevExpress developer joined the client’s normal development cycle and delivered backend capabilities with Micronaut and AWS Lambda. The work used AWS S3 for storage and AWS SNS for messaging and notifications while following the team’s existing technical conventions and delivery process.

Operational value

ConTe.it added engineering capacity directly inside its team and could advance planned development while retaining internal ownership, priorities, and technical standards.

Reliable communication with KYC and AML services

Engineering challenge

Digital journeys depended on correct communication with Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering services. Complex issues between these systems affected the continuity of application workflows.

Delivered solution

We analysed communication between the microservices and KYC/AML services, identified failure points, and corrected the application logic required to handle exchanges and responses from the involved systems.

Operational value

Workflows requiring identity verification and anti-money-laundering checks could proceed through more stable communication between the platform and external services.

Platform performance and software quality

Engineering challenge

The platform’s continued development required inefficient code paths and defects to be addressed without introducing regressions into existing digital journeys.

Delivered solution

The developer optimised critical code paths, resolved bugs, and added unit tests around changed behaviour, integrating those checks into the team’s normal development process.

Operational value

New development was delivered on a more stable foundation, with better coverage of changed behaviour and lower regression risk during subsequent updates.
